i dreamed a highway back to you...

These Friends of Mine

last night i had a terrifically vivid dream about a high school friend of mine, who died in a car accident.  he was wearing an old orange t-shirt that he often wore & was sitting patiently in the back of my old family car.  i told him that i was surprised to see him, because he was dead. he told me that a lot of people think that, but that it is not true.  i woke up feeling sad & confused...he seemed so real.

it was the first time i can remember dreaming of someone who is dead.  have you ever had this experience?

o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o

on a brighter note...

housemates + daniel + a  road trip + my hometown +  my parents +thrift stores + yummy buffalo chicken chili + games + "word play" & "stranger than fiction" + a walk on the erie canal + a charming cafe + pizza & wings + seth + brunch +  a beautifully frozen lake + a triumphant victory at st. patrick's day team trivia = one lovely & relaxing long weekend!

o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o      o       o      o      o      o      o

p.s. thanks for the comments, i too am simultaneously frightened & drawn by sugarbush squirrel.  i dart my eyes around the room...does anyone see this?  can it be real?  its the same feeling i had this sunday during a particularly unmusical hymn solo.  unfortunately my darting eyes met daniel's darting eyes & we disssolved into hopeless giggles...the inappropriate "we're in church & the pews here face each other & there are only 20 people here" kind

I dream about my dad alive all the time. And it is never weird, it just feels so nice and refreshing, but almost always there is something to hurry about in the dream, like we have to save the world or something, but waking up I realise I just wanted to hurry and spend all the time with my dad I could. I dream Kilty Good alive alot too.

darting eyes meeting eachother and laughing when we are not supposed to= very funny:)

Though I have never dreamed about someone that is dead, that I can remember, any time I have a particularly vivid dream, I wake up feeling displaced . . .and odd.

I like the church anecdote as well. . .

Ditto... I dream about people who have died who were close all the time, pretty much every dream... and also what Amber said.

Eye contact kills in moments like those.
